Don't get carried away rupert.
Let's just look to see if this is a success shall we before we commit to something else?

All the fans of the Dons should share any future burden, not just a 100 or so.
There are lots of people who would be happy for you to stump up and not contribute an extra penny themselves.

The best way of funding the club is to get the admission prices right (along with maximising sponsors) and balance the books so that all fans pay.
Then if people want to do extra and contribute to the squadbuilder, that's up to them.

I shan't be one of them however, since I don't think it is the right way to proceed, except in exceptional circumstances like this Paul Cooke one.

I do applaud those that want to do more than their fair share however.
So good luck to you.

True. But as i say this could lead to better things. If we can get it right on the pitch with the bit of extra finance hopefully we will get the extra bums on seats etc.

If the Paul Cooke thing works out it should.

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Thank God I'm an atheist.

Life isn't always fair and some people will take a free ride on the back of other people's efforts. Those of us who want to try to do a little bit extra shouldn't be put off doing so because not everyone will contribute. If you can't contribute a cash payment, then please encourage your friends and work mates to come down and support the club.

It's all a bit of a catch 22 really. Hopefully attendances will increase if we're successful and that will lead to a bigger upturn in fortunes for the club. Giving the club a helping hand like we're all presently trying to do is the best way forward at the moment.

I hope the Squad Builder is a permanent way of helping the club to bring in players that are a little bit better than we would otherwise have been able to afford.

I would urge all the good folk of Donny to get involved and try and help us all to build a team we can be proud of.

One thing that i came away from the meeting feeling good about is that Carl and John were both saying how well the club is being run off the field, and that both of them wants Paul Cooke in the blue and gold next season, but will not break their player payment cap that they have set themselves.
We've seen it happen too many times before when we have tried to get a quick fix by paying big money to players and let ourselves in the red.
