I went today and I have the following remarks.
I thought 'shall I take my season ticket?'
Nah! ... it only covers league and NRC games ... wrong!

So I didn't take my season ticket book ... only to be told this game was included.
So that's £10 down the pan I thought as I approached the ticket office desk ... only for the lovely lady to give me a complimentary ticket having found out I had not brought my season ticket.
Top lady.

The game ...
Amateur rugby at the top level is very close to semi-pro level ... seemples!
That was obvious, coupled with previous games against the select side and Siddal and Queens.

So?
We are through, job done, although we looked ordinary.

My man of the match was Carl Hughes. Has he got some sort of magnetic repulsion zone around him?
He jinks and bounces and spins ... he's like the Scarlet Pimpernel.

Top marks to Thatto Heath ... they were very good.

I have a feeling that there was similar confusion this time last year ... although I can't honestly remember if it counted or not last season.

Sorry to say but i think we were poor for most periods of the game today,if we had all the injured players back it might have been a different scoreline. Credit to Thatto for giving us a game. I have to agree with others that Carl Hughes was also my MOTM.
But as they say we are in the next round of the draw.

Who would fans like in the next round?, and home or away?

Rugbyman has retired. Welcome to Another Penalty

Anybody beatable at home.
Ditto all the way ... as far as possible.
The longer we stay in the bigger the possible reward ... IMHO
What's the point in going out away to somebody decent for a few quid?
Short-termism if you ask me.

Looking back to the weekend we were very disappointed not to have taken the opportunity to progress against what looked a very average Doncaster side in my opinion. On that showing they were certainly no better than anyone in the upper reaches of the National Conference League Premier Division and had we played to our potential I think we'd have been in the bag for the next round.
I think the quality of rugby we played was far more skilful than that what your boys did. Just look at the quality of the tries that both teams scored. Doncaster probably just had the edge on fitness and professionalism which is what saw them home.
I can't recall a clean break that Doncaster made other than the last tackle panic play that led to Colton's try. I thing we were denied a grand finale when the ref pulled the break back near the end to award Donny a penalty for our 17 calling your 21 an f****** prick after he'd recieved a fair bit of treatment on the floor from him. Have you before seen a penalty given for a bit of verbal sledging between two players? Think there'd be a penalty every tackle if that was the case!

If you've got ambitions of being up there in Championship One then it is either a very poor league or you've gotta improve massively. That said, all the best for the rest of the season from all at Thatto Heath Crusaders.

deffinately a good Thatto Heath side that came to play good rugby and all credit to them for that.
Maybe its time to look at promoting these sides into the pro ranks, their grounds can't be much worse than Swintons.
