The pivotal point in the game for me was when after 35 minutes we were on the attack in what was then a tight game......a game to be LEFT ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But no!..... the feckin referee penalises US when we are on the attack. One of our forwards is about to play the ball right in front of the posts, he is being shoved, pulled and generally ragged about such that he lurches forward and the numpty of a ref penalises us for moving off the mark.
Then from the penalty Hunslet go down the other end of the field and score.
The seesaw had tipped..... courtesy of the ref......diabolical.
When are they going to penalise the offenders??????????
That was a game we COULD HAVE WON.
They are truly a disgrace, but now't can be done.
It doesn't really matter because the better side won.... the refs get-out.
FFS!
The entire game of rugby is a joke!
You have sides with next to two farthings to rub together fielding players who are are easily a division above this level.
How's that work???

Well done to the Dons for gaining a bonus point out of this shambles of a match.

The officials were poor today. The touch judge on our side, in the first half, especially so.

However, I stayed for the full 80. The lads deserve it.

The Dons are improving game on game. We could've won today.

The bonus point was sweet. Almost as good as winning !!

I can understand how you feel about the officials S-O, but
when the lads play well we've got to stick with 'em.

I enjoyed the game today. I feel like we are really competitive. We don't have to fear any team
in our division. Who would've thought that 6 months ago ?

Stick with it S-O, B*****KS to the officials, as long as lads put in 100% what more can we ask for ?

Didn't go today due to being at work [in my proper job...], so I can't really comment on the game, but from what I've read from the Hunslet fans, they reckon we're the most improved team in the division. I'd like to think that all fans would get behind the team, but sometimes that isn't the case.

I have to agree with what has been posted by a number of supporters on this thread. The officials were poor, but credit the lads, they stuck at it and the bonus point in the end was a pleasant surprise after it looking at one point like the floodgates might open. Still lacking a little in creativity and at time the passing is too pedestrian but certainly the overall effort is improving week-on-week.

Looking at the results in previous weeks involving Hunslet and how they have steamrollered York and Oldham away....we have put up the best performance against them in recent weeks.
We can indeed beat anybody given a fair rub of the green and officials who chuck the rule book to one side and use their EYES to see what's going off.
We need some more play-making skills, but these lie with players that are injured and we need to get them back.
Edwards we can't get, but Liam Brown and Henry we can. When are they coming back???????

We need a better scrum-half.....simples. Then we would motor.

Can we keep these players? If we could we would compete big time next year with a bit of tweaking.

We can still look forward to beating Rochdale, Workington and Gateshead at home and possibly Skolars away.

We should give it a right go at Oldham, they won't be expecting it and given the results between us Oldham and Hunslet.....why can't we go there and win????
COYD
We need to start believing we can beat some of these top sides.
Because we can!

Hunslet had no god-given right to come down yesterday and beat us and if we had been a bit more on the ball we could have won.

To be fair to Hunslet they were the better side and they missed tons of conversions.
But looking at some of the tries they scored.....we have got to blame ourselves rather than praise Hunslet.

Their little pocket battleship of a mini Stanley Gene was only ever going to try to dive over for his try at the play the ball on what must have been the last tackle.

The guy who cut through on the arc for a great looking try would not have had the room if we had just moved up and tackled him.

The corner flag try......I was a bit too far away to be fair...but that looked dubious.

The try just before I left when March kicked through more in hope than expectation and our man fumbled it BADLY and they just picked up and waltzed in.

When you factor these in.....you can see how we might well have won......BUT PREDICTABLY DIDN'T. And that's a mental thing.

We need to take a good look at our discipline and our tactics.

Having said that our defence is markedly improved....but individuals are letting us down.
COYD.

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Couldn't make it yesterday but the Father in Law did. He was chuffed to bits with the effort and spoke highly of the lads that played and thoroughly enjoyed the match. He just thinks that we need an old head in one or two places and we would be fine.

I was well pleased with the commitment from the boys. Is it too much to ask for a referee once in a while that has a clue what is going on?
