No complaints today, we looked an amateur outfit, the ref was on our back because of the lack of knowledge in our side. It was like the sixth form aaginst the first year. Not sure which ten Miller is keeping on that showing.



Some Gateshead fans need to remember where they where a few years ago and show a little humility. But I suppose when you consume that amount of ale all reasoning goes out the window.



Glad the crappy season is over and we get chance to start a fresh. No big ideas, no big promises and hopefully the finances are not

squandered/ wasted like previous years. My one real hope for next year is for us to live within our means and that hopefully includes everyone connected with the club.

There may well be.....but I doubt that refs are involved.

To call a ref a cheat is an absolute insult......and I hear it at games regularly.

IF refs are truly cheats and can pass down conspiracy from the RFL down to pitch level then we may as well all pack in.

I don't believe it happens.

Refs don't give a fook who wins.

But a lot of them are incompetent.

Not cheats....... just crap guessers who take the easy option.

The referee was actually Neil Turley's brother, not sure why he was appointed for this game considering what was at stake elsewhere. He did absolutely hammer the Dons though. I thought you did quite well considering most of those boys were playing amateur a year ago while certain Gateshead players were playing with the likes of Inglis, Folau and Scott Prince.

Gateshead looked good at times to be fair, but penalty count really did knock us back.



I do not believe for one second we were any less disiciplined than Thunder...



The fact that the ref spent half the time laughing with the Gateshead players was duly noted by a few around me.



Still we turned up and tried, i would hate to be seen to be harsh on those that have stuck it out - but as long as we signed a new 6 and 7 i could live with the rest of the team as a starting point...

Thought Henderson was in charge yesterday as he seemed to be chatting to the "ref" throughout.

May improve when he learns the rest of the rules at play the ball like moving off the mark but a very inept performance.

Gateshead win at Barrow last week proved to be the saviour for them.

and well done Mr Harrison at Batley.

I have to agree with Stand-off and others about the players; boys against men but they have helped keep the club alive by not forfeiting games.



Also can't see how the ref can be called a cheat. Incompetent, inconsistent, inexperienced, devoid of common sense, but not a cheat, that would take a level of proficiency above most of those pertaining to manage the game.



When he had to be reminded that after the 5th tackle the ball was handed over to the defending team not put a scrum down just about summed it all up.



I don’t knock Thunder fans for crowing about our relegation, they have been there and pulled themselves up, we need to prove that we can.



As has been said, glad this seasons over and look forward to a clean sheet for 2010.

After yesterday's game I have just read the laws of the game on the rugby league website and wonder if Mr Turley has ever studied them after yesterday's performance.I bet he didn't get a bad report from the match commissioner who must be deemed surplus to requirements when one looks at some of the inept displays of refereeing that we see.

A lot of people come and say to me that they have stopped watching the game due to the standard of officials.Whilst I accept that it is a difficult game to referee standards appear to get worse.It is time that touch judges title was changed and they be brought more into the game.

T.V. has helped to spoil the game as top officials have to rely on video ref and the less experienced can't manage without replays.As I have said on numerous occassions a very difficult game to referee but standards seem to be waining

I didn't really think that we did have a go at you too much, everyone seems quite sympathetic to your plight. Maybe if we did it was down to exasperation at the occasional chants of 'Cheat' which are just ridiculous. I think for most of the game we were just enjoying a big win for our team rather than making fun of you.

The cheat chants were really silly........but an understandable manifestation of frustration by some fans.

The Thunder fans were OK .......it's just that idiotic chant of 'Come on Thunder'

'Come on Thunder'.......it sounds like someone cheering a donkey on in a donkey derby.
