Having thought about this for a couple of days, I don't think Paul Cooke is the type of player that Tony Miller would sign. TM seems to prefer hard-working, dedicated players, who have a desire to win.
Paul Cooke may have these qualities but his past record and his recent attitude towards the game suggests he would have plenty to prove in these departments.
I've had a feeling, along with a couple of earlier posters, that Mick Butterfield might be played at centre this season. We could do with him playing both full back and centre as he's probably our most consistent performer! Mick at centre with a very able full back would be a good combination.
Clinton Schifcofske would be a big asset at the back from an organisational point of view. It would be great to see him in a Dons' shirt. It wouldn't address the half-back problem though which would be a concern.
Has TM got more than one signing in mind? I presume we will be in the market for perhaps bringing in a couple of dual registration players as well?
Hope we donot go down the dual reg / loan route. Interesting piece re Mark Astons views on Dual Reg ( See Star on line ).
Regarding the signing hope I hope it resolves the 6/7 problem for next season. I & a few others have been going on about it a few times I am sure Tony will listen to us.

Yes very valid points made by Mark Aston about Dual Registrations - especially in that it worked well with one Super League side but badly with another.
Aston says that he will be relying on reserve players to step up if he needs extra bodies to bolster his first team squad.
If we do sign anyone on Dual Registration we don't want them here one week and gone the next, especially if they are in key positions. But Nev Morrison, Chris Green, and Gareth Potts all brought something extra to the team last year. I'm sure we would have done worse had we not had their services.
Not wanting to get away from the actual thread ...
I hope everyone turns out in their numbers on Tuesday night for the big announcement.
We may have done a lot better if Chris Green had been allowed to spend more time with us. With regard Chris hope he kicks on and breaks into the first team at Hull !
