We can hardly argue against the Super-League becoming a closed shop and then say we want the Championship to adopt the very same thing.

That’s a fair point, but would it not be better to put them all in a division together where the winner earns the right to play in CC1 rather than dumping a ship load of expansion teams on us all in one go!
Imagine if for SL 2013 it was announced that teams from all these far flung places were to be added to the fixture list.
Why does CC1 have to be the laboratory for all of mad professor RFLs experiments?

It's a crazy idea and won't work.
Eh, but let them do what they want, they will anyway.
They just stick pins in maps of faraway places.
The resulting clubs die on their arses. They always have done bar the odd exception .....Catalans.
Is that any reason for them not to try?
Well if they want to ignore history ... let them go ahead.
Basically RL is a localised minority sport and what the hell is going to change that?
Only a shedload of dosh from somebody like Murdoch.

The cost of fuel nowadays is becoming prohibitive and that is one reason why the only away games I went to last year were games when a coach was laid on.
I spend enough on the bloody stuff as it is.
I'd sooner have a day at the coast on a sunny day.

I suppose in an ideal world we could all stop overnight and see the sights to mitigate the boredom of travelling there and back in a day... more expense!

Football fans do it though ... why is that?

All I know is there are no bounds to the desperation of the RFL in spreading this sport and blow the consequences.
And blow fairness.
And blow any club that stands in the way!

I would agree with your views.
This WILL NOT WORK and I fear for the future of any of the current CC1 clubs who are still in this division when the RFL realise this. What we need is more games against the teams we have now and also in the Champoinship. Why not just merge the two leagues we have now? The travelling will be a killer. You might as well watch Moorends or Toll Bar .

To be honest the clubs left behind can probably ride out 2013 in CC1 and surely the teams at most risk are those that make it up next season, probably spend to try to survive and don't then drop into CC1 for 2014 with massivly reduced income and probably debts carried over from the previous two seasons striving to make it out of CC1 in the first place and then trying to make a go of it in CC.

They didn't apply!

I don't understand that one.
What does that mean exactly?

I'm sorry but it doesn't.
Write down exactly what it means.

You have a winner of the league ... fine
You have a winner of the grand final and a loser from the same final. They are promoted.

Now these clubs have come from teams 2 to 8.
So lets say that the team 2 wins and the team 8 are in the final.
Right they go up.
Now teams 3,4,5,6,7 have been knocked out.
Does team 4 get promoted over team three that got knocked out?
What does the team finishing fourth mean? The team finishing fourth in the league?.

So you can fiddle it to finish fourth and not risk getting knocked out in the play-offs by finishing third?
Or does it mean the team that has done third best in the play-offs?

Is it me??????

I would appreciate some clarification from someone.

Or are you saying that if, say, a team (say the team finishing 2) didn't play in the grand final, they would be considered the fourth best team???

If the 2 clubs who reach the GF are outside the top 4 , the other 2 would be who finished 1st & 2nd.
