In an age of equality and equal opportunities, it's rather like a golf club not admitting women members, or a CIU club not admitting women.
The Superleague are admitting clubs on as flimsy a factor as geography. OK there are many other factors, but the Crusaders were a prime example of this. Akin if you like to discrimination in job interviews.
It should be illegal, simple as that.

It should be on merit alone, if a club is good enough on the park ... never mind what their facilities are like (as long as they pass Health and Safety regs) they should be in. And the only fair way in is via promotion.

Someone treating the RL set-up like their own little toy to arrange in some nice tidy way according to their perceived wishes is wrong . It's manipulation, irrespective of the laudable (in their eyes) goals and is manifestly unfair.

It's like picking football sides back in school, all the fat ones and the ones with glasses and the billy-no-mates and the brainy ones never get picked, even though they might be good.
It's favouritism.
Where is the equality and fairness?

I could go on.......

Good post S/O and one i totally agree with. The current situation with promotion and relegations are totally diabolical.

Rugbyman has retired. Welcome to Another Penalty

Why is there such concern on clubs having to have new stadiums at a lot of the games I see on tv including some super league games they only us two or three sides of the ground perhaps a two sided stadium would be quite sufficent for a lot of teams

Quote:Ok here is the 1st paragraph from Gareth Walkers report on page 3 of the League Express this morning.

Rugby Football League chief executive Nigel Wood has confirmed that the RFL will again guarantee a licence for a Championship club from 2015
He also states, "we're not looking to pull the drawbridge up in any shape or form"

Looks like the next 3 years will be more of the same.
