OK, but you missed out the fact that if the ref had been decent widnes would have walked it, if the sun had stayed out for longer, it'd have been fairer for both teams, if you had a bigger pitch Widnes would have romped it and Penney would have scored 5 tries, if your fans hadn't been so noisy we'd have stood a better chance, if you'd have sold proper beer as opposed to Cider we'd have won, you only won because your stole our players (Hardman & Kain) and last but not least the hooter went early so we deserved to win.
Just jesting mate, pretty fair analysis that, jobs a good'un.
an atmosphere that isn't created by people in matching shirts clapping along to a drum or novelty PA music might be nice!

The ref hardly had a marked influence on yesterdays game - tho his counting of 7 tackles at least twice in the game was comical - the 40/20 actually looked like a 40/20 to me and the ref - but It appears I was the only one of both sets of players and fans who did!! The drop out from the line kick conceded by penny was also subject to some question! I thought it come of pryce - but as no score came off it, it didn't have a marked bearing on the game. What he was doing after the final hooter waving his hands about like he was marshalling airliner moving on the ground, lord only knows!
Widnes were the makers of their own undoing. Fev score a decent try to bring the score to 16-10 and Widnes then go for the daft kick off with little to gain and much to lose so close to half time! Result 16-16 at half time instead of a Widnes lead.
Widnes played the ball at great speed and had much more pace all over the field - tactics apparently were to keep running it into our forwards who obviously smarting from last weeks dismal show were up for it and matched everything widnes had to offer - whereas the pace, if smartly used, was outside waiting for the ball - and waiting, and waiting!!!
Thackray then. Good player with the ball in hand- but watch the video. He almost invited Dickens over then line with 7 mins to go! He had no intention of making the tackle - it was directly in front of me and I was astonished of his lack of defensive effort.
Just to clear the clock up. The clock is there for info only. When the ref stops the clock, the clock keeps running. When he re-starts the clock, the clock is then re-set from the point the ref stopped it!!!
The time keepers have a different clock and is observed by officials from both clubs, and is the clock that the game is played by.
Thus, the game ran for exactly 80 mins!!!

Let me guess, you've only got one eye and your blood runs blue and white.
