Does anybody know whats going on with that at the minute? drove past today and it was dead. Is it still open or is it still getting done up? is it up for sale?

Shame as it was a good pub and IMO is the Widnes Vikings pub or it certainly should be marketed that way. Pity they changed the colour scheme to Green as the Black and White was so much better.


Bring back the real Albion!

It's not open and it's up for sale as far as I'm aware.

I don't think we quite realise but as hard as it hit us when we missed out on Super League I suspect that some of the local pubs like the Albion are hit even harder. Being in a division where we get barely half the crowds we do in Super League with a tenth of the away support must hit them hard.

Very true my friend but the Albion has a decent appeal as it's a pub thats on the way to town and i know in years gone by it was always busy with pre town drinkers. Lets hope that a Widnesian couple get it who are Widnes fans. Or even better Steve Oneill.

Let's all chip in and buy it. I have a fiver. Theres a start.

This would be the ultimate Widnes pub if it was ran by us lot. We could chain littlerich and starbug in the cellar and only let them out when they finally swore allegiance to our cause.

We could put one of those signs on the windows like they used to in the olden days,

No children under 14, no tramps and no Warringtonians.

£50 in from me, get all the pictures of glory days plastered around the pub. Paint it Black and White and get regular club meeting held in there.

Every Monday night after a win, a massive big screen showing of the match.

And proper real beer none of this budweiser nonsense.

Funny that as the Leigh arms "Leighs Rugby Pub" was nearly destroyed by our friends from Warrington after a game in 2005.

The Crown was best pub in Widnes we used to go before every game when we played you ,good food etc despite it having a couple of dodgy landlords
