Just watched it.
The wife picked one up for me this morning when she went to get my NRC match tickets (I knew she'd come in handy one day). I have to say that Ronnie Laughton did his damdest to give that game to Halifax. All three of their 2nd half trys would've been chalked off had there been a video ref.
The first 2nd half try came after a clear knock on by Gleeson. It hit his upper arm and went forward, he was on the run so he ran over the ball and then went back to retrieve it, picked it up and played on and Shad Royston goes in.
The next try came from blatant crossing, when a dummy runner took out Duffy and knocked him 2 feet backwards as Black came flying through and went in. Black was well covered otherwise.
The last try was one that I didn't notice while at the game. The ball was kicked up and Doddy caught the ball, but he had it immediately reefed away, in a two man tackle by Royston, who then went under.
I knew that Widnes were the better side, even before I watched this game, but we were even better than I thought they were. Other than a 15 - 20 minute period in the 2nd half, Widnes pretty much dominated the game.
Well done lads, you should've beaten them by 3 trys!!!!!!

Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”
There's a Wooly over there, baggy kecks and feathered hair with a 3 star jumper half way up his back, that’s a fecking Wooly back! Oooh-to… Oooh-to-be… Oooh-to-be-a… WOOLY!

I think there's a picture of that on the website of the halifax courier.. certainly looked exactly as you mentioned it.

I thought our 2nd and 3rd try of the half were v.suspect at the time, especially the last try, infact i remember shouting (cos he got pulled for it vs Barrow) 'ffs Shad dont tackle him in the air....yeeeeeeeessssssss!!!! (obviously not caring at this point ) and this picture shows it was also 2 on 1...as does the video i suppose.
Still think the Ref could have given us a few more penalties (as he should have you probably, plus no one knows why Tamghart wasnt sent off for his headbutt haha) but if our game was the one on thursday imo 1 out of 4 of you tries wouldn't have been given, but 3 our 4 of our wouldn't have either. Both a set of cheating b@stards in conclusion

Fair play to you, Tommy. (not a pun, honest) I actually thought there wouldn't be a single Halifax fan on this thread, particularly not one admitting that you actually got the rub of the green.
There were quite a few strange decisions, including one when Dodd knocked on under your posts, and Fax threw the ball to the 20 metre line and took a quick tap while Widnes were hesding forward to form the scrum. Laughton called play on and you made 15 metre's. It's lucky we had a couple of players in the right position to tackle or that would've been a certain try.
There was also what looked suspiciously like a voluntary tackle by Greenwood, but I'll let that go.
Ronnie Laughton eh?
What a w**ker!
