Best of luck in the Final, and well done on Sunday. Totally in a false position, but always a danger. This may kick your season on. I hope for a Widnes win simply because Barrow have bankrolled themselves into contention. Oh, and thanks for the 6 points this season. You may have just kept us in this league!! |

They don't deserve that and losing our closest rivals in this division would be unfortunate to say the least. |

Barrow have 8 locals in the their team and brought other players in to ensure they were competitive in the first season at the higher level. The alternative is to leave 'as is' and be relegated. RL is a professional sport, so by definiton all clubs try to 'bankroll' themselves into contention every year. Buying a few players guarantee's nothing and credit should be given to the Barrow club for getting a team into the position it's in above other established clubs who have had years to build a team in the higher league. Should be a cracking final. I reckon 3,000 from Barrow and 4,500 from Widnes. Add the neutrals and it could well be a sell-out. |

With the salary cap in place it is impossible for any heartland club to bankroll themselves into contention. Snowy's a good poster on here though, and I wouldn't like to see his club go down. I don't think they will anyway. |

I have a soft spot for Barrow and I remember the days of the strong Barrow side from 1983 in front of 5k+ strong supporters giving championship winning Leigh a hell of a game. Barrow deserve to get there on merit, but I would hate you to go belly up as a result of some of the huge contracts you are paying out based on 1900 spectators. Widnes on the other hand are an established NL/SL yo-yo side with obvious SL qualities with the ground and fanbase to boot. Good luck to Barrow too, but I feel that Widnes will be too strong on the day. |

I don't understand the yo yo tag we got. We've been promoted, once. We were relegated once. Three years later. If you had a yo yo which only managed that you'd throw it away. Had there not been special circumstances we wouldn't have been relegated in the first place. |

Catalans inclusion, although I'm fully okay with that and always have been. Two went down but we knew that would be the case before the season and the french have been something of a success story, but it wasn't a big risk really. ATEOTD, we weren't told it would be an open process and then unfairly judged, and I didn't complain about it then and I wont complain about it now. I sincerely hope the game in france flourishes, not at our expense obviously. |

I was thinking about the 6 points as well - we may well have saved Leigh's season, with Gateshead and Batley coming into some decent form. Since dropping into this division, there has always been a decent respect between the Widnes and Leigh fans, maybe because every year we seem to be battling it out against a Yorkshire club at the top. The only time there has been bickering between us and Leigh was when we were poop at the start of 2006 and they kept batteringing us every time. Even this year where they have done the double over us there has been very little gloating or goading. Mind you when you've got the Fax fans pretending they're Hull KR and the "king of kings" etc its hard to even think about our pretty battles. |
