RL is a professional sport, so by definiton all clubs try to 'bankroll' themselves into contention every year. Buying a few players guarantee's nothing and credit should be given to the Barrow club for getting a team into the position it's in above other established clubs who have had years to build a team in the higher league.
Should be a cracking final. I reckon 3,000 from Barrow and 4,500 from Widnes. Add the neutrals and it could well be a sell-out.
You may have misinterpreted my post a little.
I have a soft spot for Barrow and I remember the days of the strong Barrow side from 1983 in front of 5k+ strong supporters giving championship winning Leigh a hell of a game.
Barrow deserve to get there on merit, but I would hate you to go belly up as a result of some of the huge contracts you are paying out based on 1900 spectators.
Widnes on the other hand are an established NL/SL yo-yo side with obvious SL qualities with the ground and fanbase to boot.
Good luck to Barrow too, but I feel that Widnes will be too strong on the day.
