Well that was uncomfortable to say the least... but to be completely honest... in a word the Widnes fans were apathetic tonight and that is the most worrying part.

For me to see so many of the hardcore leaving with 5 mins to go was a real worry as I haven't really seen it since the Endaflop days. Some of those people I haven't seen back at the club.

On a positive note there are 'shoots' I suppose you could say. The movement at times was good. Webster was involved again.
but..
2 stupid penalties cost two tries one from Smith and of course..... well I'm not even going to say it.

Another decision to take 2 points when we had the momentum and were 8 yards in front of the line only to gift the ball back in the following set.

There was a time when a loss at Leigh would have been heartbreaking... to be honest at the moment I'm not just wondering what to have as a snack..

Like I said real apathy tonight.. no-one particularly upset other than with the stewards.

I said weeks back that I have also started to lose interest and I wasn't even bothered about not being there tonight. This year has been a disaster and now the hardcore like you say are losing faith, 2000 plus home crowds will soon become a reality and slowly we are sinking with each week that passes.

A sad state of affairs

Love a brew.

We were commenting on that too. You had 4 penalties without us touching the ball and then went for the 2 points. Seems like a serious lack of confidence!?

As a leyther that decision amazed me, couldn't see you not scoring from the next set of six.

Well you saw Smithy set up and Gannon make the run and then the next thing the ref is pointing at the sticks.. Webster did gesture and then walked off.. but I'm assuming the decision came from the bench..

Again it's one of those situations were if we score off the next set after putting the kick over and convert then were leading and have the ball back but that's the second time it hasn't worked out.
Having said that.. run the ball and don't score and you get people questioning not taking the guaranteed points, but I agree we deffo had good momentum.

The thing is tonight we did look fairly effective in attack.. some good movement of the ball and dummy runners

enough is enough now I`m utterly baffled and confused wtf is going on !!

There is talent there, I have to say now I sympathise with Wire when Cullen was there.

My feeling are that this site is for fans to hope that the club get feedback from the fans on here and its just not happening .

Did they listen to us about Cullen ??NO
Head well and truely up in the clouds.

Tez is banging on Widnes should be doing this that and the other with a f ing sky microphone infront of the camera ??????

Its a f ing joke

In Enemy T we can try and plaster over the cracks on here but I`m utterly pee`d off now.
I`m feeling I have to get drunk to sit through Gateshead  thats if I do go

That was the icing on the cake for me

Spot on, looked a different class when you clicked. Clearly plenty of talent there - but something clearly not right.

It's peculiar..
I joked with my mate, when we went 10 nil up that we need to score more before Doran comes on the pitch and then bang!!
I'm not saying he is to blame for the defeat tonight or even most of the tries that went against us.. but just look at two incidents.
the first he gets a penalty and then starts handbags with the Leigh player which could have seen him walk for 10..
Secondly he takes Durbin out clean and we miss out on a score as a result... I like/d the player but something is not right and if Fletcher was back he would not get near the 19 for Gateshead for me at the mo.

Like I said...Apathy is the the only word to describe how I watch the matches now.. a proper malaise has set in... there is no more anger or anguish.. just...well nothing.. it's now just a habit to go to the matches.
But...
We know that we have been subjected to a............bizarre.. is the only word I can think of for it.. training regime. This is now changing and like I said there were times that I genuinely took heart from what was happening on the pitch..
Smith and Webster played well tonight for the first 15 mins and we looked decent.
When we moved the ball from side to side we looked good. Let's do it more often though.
