Widnes Chairman Steve O'Connor has come up with a novel way of thanking fans following his team's recent disappointing performances which has seen consecutive losses for the Vikings.
For the next Co-operative Championship game at the Stobart Stadium Halton there will be free admission to the regular North and South stand seats with a nominal charge for the Gold and Silver sections. "The last few results have been disappointing to say the least, particularly the defeat at home to Barrow" said O'Connor.
"However, it is a time for us all to pull together and following discussions with Paul Cullen, Terry O'Connor and Alex Bonney I would like to invite you as our guests to the game against Gateshead on 23rd May.
"Whilst in the short term this will only benefit non-season ticket holders, it is my intention to offer an additional one game discount to those season ticket holders who renew for 2010 in the ‘early bird' period when it is announced.
"The Gateshead game is also the day when we will be drawing our first £10,000 Dream Ticket winner and instant tickets will be available around the ground so it will hopefully a day of celebration all round.
"Everyone at the Club is working hard to achieve our goals for this season and with an up and coming Northern Rail Cup quarter final against York plus over half of the league campaign to come there is still a lot to play for."

Nice gesture from Steve and hopefully this will create a good atmosphere for us all to boo mccormack when he comes into view for gathering such a poo squad.

Looks like it's just the North and South stands so you have a decision to make, you either sit with all the real born and bred Widnes folk in the North Stand or you sit with the posh stuck up prawn eating brigade in the south stand headed by Pepe. Most in the south are out of towners who have adopted Widnes as there team.

South stand for me. I'll bring my smoking jacket, pipe and slippers.
On a crusade to return Leigh Centurions to their traditional colours of Cherry & White.
