simple as, been brought up to hate them, and my views will never change. Despite being only 20, and having witnessed the 'derby' for 3-4 years only, I have always considered them 'the enemy', balls to Leigh and Saints or wigan. And I always viewed Cullen as a dirty git on the pitch.
But despite this, I will always love WIdnes a hell of a lot more than I hate Warrington, love out weighs the hate, simple as. Nobody should hate somebody else more so than they love their own team/town. I didn't like the appointment of PC at first but whilst he is at Widnes, I will support the team just like I would a Wiganer, Leyther, scouser, Pakistani etc should they be in charge of Widnes Vikings RLFC.
This post is not a dig at anyone in the slightest as I know some of the lads who aren't in favour of Cullen, but whilst he is at Widnes he deserved our support IMHO. If it doesn't work out then by all means I agree, people have a right to critiscise, but due to the on field antics, not because he is Warringtonian. I bet people didn't boo Rick Thackray or Tony Thornily, they are both wires. Matthew Strong is from Penketh, shall we all turn on him all of a sudden? Thought not!
Like I say no dig intended to anyone as we all detest wires, but lets face it cullen probably realises that. And it isn't as if we have much of a rivalry at the minute anyway. ANyway rant over!
an atmosphere that isn't created by people in matching shirts clapping along to a drum or novelty PA music might be nice!

I don't.
Fair enough mate. Wouldn't criticsise anybody who doesn't. But I have my reasons. Not that I'll go into that on here. My initial post is pretty positive, I am prepared to support Cullen as he is know widnes, thats my point, think most should follow suit.

I agree.
I think widnes have been shafted that many times I think its personally difficult to feel any animosity for a real RL club for things which largely happened before I was born, so I don't feel that bad about wires. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy seeing them humiliated week after week but as for Paul Cullen I'll give him the same chance as almost any widnes manager coming in. He will get my full backing and I sincerely hope he will do us a good job.
If Richard Lewis was involved in this club on any level, however, that's another matter. If I said what I really felt about him and what I'd love to happen to him I think some would be shocked so I'll just leave it at that.

I think the gist of your post is 100% spot on Moz!!! Can't say I detest Wire.. losing to them always hurt more than any other team and I would say that I disliked them intensely.. the thought of Les Boyd or Lee Penny makes me shake violently even now. But everyone deserves a second chance.. apart from les boyd and Lee Penny..
