Paul Cullen was introduced to the press this afternoon and spoke of his desire to take Widnes into the top flight.
"Widnes is a club I have always had a lot of respect for. When I came as either a player or coach I knew that if we weren't on top form we'd go away with a defeat. There have been so many great players here over the years and the Club is respected throughout the rugby league world.
"Steve and Terry O'Connor have both sold me a dream and it's a dream I've bought into completely. I'm not here to change things for the sake if it, good people make a good Club and at Widnes there are many good people, both on and off the pitch, who I am looking forward to working with.
"All I ask of the players, staff and fans is to give everything they can for the Club, that is what I will be doing."
