Considering the rather disruptive last couple of weeks the progression of both players this season has been immense. Paddy has come on a bundle lately and his pace and strength is frightening at times, and what can you say about Michael Ostick who has been a monster up front.

Both are now the first names on the team sheet IMO.

Quick note to the club, Osticks contract is up at the end of the year so get moving with the pen and paper!

Totally agree, I think the 2 players are both in the top 3 performers of the season so far, and may I add Scott Yates to this list, I thought his support play on Sunday was superb.

They need to be sewn up asap, if Kavanagh can get a 3 year contract Ostick needs at least a 5 year one!!!!

Agreed Yates has also been impressive, Wildbore/Gaskell/Mills are going to have to fight hard if they want to get back in the side.

Both players should be seen as part of the long term future of the club.

Paddy Flynn - Awesome, finally great to see him being given proper first team rugby, something Ste Mac wasn't prepared to give him on a ffrequent basis. First name on my team sheet for Barrow, simple as.

Although the club decided not to extend his loan period, Ostick did a good job for Barrow on his brief spell at Craven Park last season. Good tackler.

To be honest I think the 1 year deal was the kick up the booty that potentially he needed and he deserves an extension now purely on his pre-seasn form.

His whole attitude seems to have changed since the Barrow loan at the end of last year and over the course of this pre-season. I didnt think he would ever make the step up to first team fully on his 21's form but he's surprised me by being a whole lot more aggressive in both attack and defence.

It's strange to think that in all probability had it not been for administration then I dont think Ozzy would have got his chance in the first team. He was behind both Sidlow and Mike Morrison and if it wasnt for them leaving then he might not have seen much game time. Administration took away some fantastic talent from us but oddly were now seeing others develop and progress to first team that may otherwise have not got their chance.

That's a pretty good point mate.. Yates, Ostick and Grady were all part of that fantastic u18's team from a couple of years back that were an absolute joy to watch. It would have been great to have also been able to call upon the services of Myler, Keavney and Sidlow too but that was not meant to be... only a brave coach would go into a season using so much young talent so often in what could be an important season.
