Only a hefty win will do for me.

So what does everybody else think?

Come on the Vikings!

I'm really interested to learn what this different approach to match days is going to involve for the players... what was so bad previously that it has been singled out as the first thing to change.

From the games that Stankevitch has previously coached there was normally a marked improvement in the way that Widnes line up in attack with good depth and the defence has normally been pretty good too.

I'd expect a decent win with more involvement from the half-backs.

IMO we have always started games pretty slow and that was picked upon by Stanky, more often than not teams come out at a real fast pace and then we fight back later in the game. I would rather us blow teams away in the first half hour, i remember Saints doing something similar not so long ago. It saves us all having heart attacks in the last 5 minutes!

We have the ability to give teams a real pasting early on should we use the ball correctly.

I hope Mills and Gaskell return for this game.

John Stankevitch has named his 17 for this Saturday's Northern Rail Cup pool game with Gateshead Thunder.

Scott Yates and Matt Strong are included for their first competitive game of 2009 with Anthony Thackeray moving to the bench to accommodate a half back pairing of John Duffy and James Webster.

The team is; Yates, Flynn, Kohe-Love, Wildbore, Dodd; Duffy, Webster; Ostick, Smith, Gannon, Doran, Varkulis, Fletcher. Subs. Thackeray, Kavanagh, Strong, Grady.

Still no Mills and Gaskell I'm afraid VM

Morrison injured, interesting to see Varks getting stuck in at second row. Same with wildbore in the centres, he will do a good job.

Fletcher at LF?? wont work for me.

1 prop on the bench is risky but i suppose we have no choice really with the injuries.
