I'm sorry but you are nowhere near as good as the lot of you think you are!! And by your lot I mean your fans, your coach and your ministers for parliament...
I have read on your board that you choked, that you bombed tries, that the ref cost you the game....
I've got a newsflash for you... you were beaten in this last game by the better team. We had a game plan that we have until now been unable to use against you which is to dominate your pack, free up the halfbacks and apply the finish through the backs. You bombed chances and so did we.. you might have won.. we could have won more comfortably!! it's all ifs and buts.
We have actually gone some way to repairing the damage done by McCormack in terms of assembling the squad and we are finally training as a unit and have some self belief at last.
If you think you only have a problem at stand-off then you should have a look at your pack that was blowing out of it's booty for large parts of the game.
You are a good side in this league but you are not as good as you think you all are.

A glaring problem for my money is that we urgently need a stand-off. True, they aren't hung on the back of doors but even with the class of Penks, Black, Beswick and Gleeson, none are out-and-out stand-off which are paramount in this game.
Fair play Widnes, great crowd and all that but we dropped and bombed so many plays, more in that game than perhaps a full three games prior. I am not ruling you lot out but if Calland gets a good stand-off, we will be somewhere near!
The bottom line is that Widnes did not allow you to play at your very best, which is why we could contain you. We're approaching full strength and are building up the momentum for the business end of the season. The Vikings are now on the march.
