I simply told him in response to his public facebook statements about not wanting to be at the club, that he should pack his bags and leave. I shouldn't have said anything in hindsight but the whole weekend performance on top of those statements has angered me. I suggest you go back to your own board and stop commenting on stuff you know nothing about.
As it happens I had quite an interesting discussion with Loz following that. He also said that comments made on message boards were extremely distracting for the players and the fans attitude is having an effect. I said he and the players shouldn't be reading the forums and concentrate on their own game. He also claims that Widnes is a great club and that he will put in 100% every time. He also finds it ridiculous that Cullen is getting so much stick so soon into the job. He's sacrificing a lot to play for Widnes apparently, days off work, time away from family etc.. He's far from perfect, particularly as he is by his own admission hot headed. However he seems an honest player who wants to succeed and wants the club to succeed.
On that note, I'm going to refrain from reading some of the bullshit on here and other forums and inflaming it further with my own angered posts. I suggest others do the same and that posts slating individual players are removed, including posts about sacking players. I think some of us (myself included) need to realise the damage the constant barrage of non-constructive criticism and abuse is going to cause between us and the players who clearly have issues of their own they need to sort as a team.
If you've got nothing positive to say. Bite your tongue and don't say anything. Players do read these forums whether they should be or not and it really isn't going to help them this season if the abuse keeps up.[/img]
Fair enough, I'll take back what I said about him earlier in the thread. (But it's a £50 fine for looking at the messageboards!)
There was a post on TIW about the forum being a bad thing. I agree to some extent that it is but we as Widnes fans are spoilt with the success we've had and the legacy of 1989 and the expectations of the fans is one of if not
the most in British RL.
I'm not a fan of this "Sky Sports Era" as I like to call it,
everyone is a pundit,
everyone is an analyst,
everyone picks the team,
everyone has a say in how the club should be run whereas 10-15 years ago it was a few blokes in the pub having a craic. Now the impact of people' opninions - good, bad or ugly has far greater consequences than it did 10 years ago.
