Alot of flapping on here after our defeat to Featherstone. We got very close to a team around us and our away form has been poor all year, so it wasn't too bad. The week before we battered top of the league with many players missing remember.

I'd have took where we're at at this stage of the season 3 months ago, and even Fax/Barrow etc. would change places with us because we've got the all important tick. Widnes fans have an inability to think outside the box, surely everyone at the club is now thinking of 2012, so a defeat to Featherstone will disappear into insignificance in the long run. Even if we don't make the Grand Final, our season has been a dam sight better than we thought it was going to be.

Also, I believe the cut in salary cap will mean the difference next year could be down to coaches, and how teams prepare. (Just like this years Challenege Cup in my opinion). I've more than enough confidence that Cull can build his own team from day one and hold it's own, so if as rumoured players are going, so be it.

Should be a good game ... You can manage without Penny but if the pk is missing key players if could be tough... Duffy looks like hes battling on too...

Everyone wanted both players to stay, but Flynn has returned to the side in better form in my opinion, and Gaskell is one of our best players. Picksergill has been great but he did start on the bench against Fax, and hopefully the other players will be back. Morrison and Doran can both play prop and Patterson can play loose forward, so we can cover these positions. If we lose someone like Webster or Thackeray, thats when we'd struggle.

I'm very optimistic about our chances of getting a SL licence in 2012. The problem now is it's even more imperative that we do get one. The new salary cap could be potentially disastrous for us beyond 2012 if we are still in this league. There's nothing wrong with pointing that out. It has nothing to do with Fev.

On thread drift:
tb wrote:Tough. Conversations develop. It's their nature.

Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”

There's a Wooly over there, baggy kecks and feathered hair
with a 3 star jumper half way up his back, that’s a fecking Wooly back!

Oooh-to… Oooh-to-be… Oooh-to-be-a… WOOLY!
