I'd have took where we're at at this stage of the season 3 months ago, and even Fax/Barrow etc. would change places with us because we've got the all important tick. Widnes fans have an inability to think outside the box, surely everyone at the club is now thinking of 2012, so a defeat to Featherstone will disappear into insignificance in the long run. Even if we don't make the Grand Final, our season has been a dam sight better than we thought it was going to be.
Also, I believe the cut in salary cap will mean the difference next year could be down to coaches, and how teams prepare. (Just like this years Challenege Cup in my opinion). I've more than enough confidence that Cull can build his own team from day one and hold it's own, so if as rumoured players are going, so be it.
I'm very optimistic about our chances of getting a SL licence in 2012. The problem now is it's even more imperative that we do get one. The new salary cap could be potentially disastrous for us beyond 2012 if we are still in this league. There's nothing wrong with pointing that out. It has nothing to do with Fev.
