Pretty honest review really - clearly at a loss to understand why the players acted the way they did. The 2 things he has mentioned - The discipline and our error count with the ball probably did cost us the game. The discipline was dreadful at times and we coughed up possession far too many times. Even given those 2 aspects, when we did keep hold of the ball we didn't look threatening at all anyway. So yes as a start point the discipline and possession must be improved, but still a lot of work to do even after that.
I can see a lot of tight, low scoring games coming up, which is amazing considering Cullen was taken on to improve our style of play that was supposed to excite the fans. I know getting the basics right is essential to winning games and there's no point in moving onto more complex moves until we can master the basics but it does make you wonder why its taking so much time and effort just to get the players to complete sets and not give penalties away. I would imagine when there is more competition for places, then Cullen can drop under-performing players, but for now how can he get the point across to someone like Doran that his 'performances' are unacceptable?
