Why would I do that? They're not on the banks of the Mersey and anyone who knows the history of the north west knows Merseyside was just an informal area consisting of Liverpool and Bootle in Lancashire and Birkenhead and Wallasey in Cheshire. I've never had a problem with people from St Helens whenever I've been to watch them.
The lack of local knowlege and history these days is quite astounding.

Stockport is more Merseyside than St.Helens.
