Can't quite decide if it's the players getting up to their old tricks or downing tools to oust a coach...or if our 'most experienced coach in SL' has simply had his day.
But that was worse than anything Hodgson and Radford served up and serious questions need to be asked.

I'd say it's a mix of both Smith and the players. Some of those tackle attempts today were just embarrassing even part time players. Perhaps Smith isn't coaching them proper defensive techniques and structures, but then it also looks like the players play with no personal or professional pride. Smith is responsible for signing 2 hookers to play in the halves and seemingly not willing to change things when it's so obvious we are botj clueless in attack and have 0 running threat from 9. We've looked to have no attacking structure at all so far and he does nothing to change it, other than dropping/benching our only threatening player with ball in hand, Hoy. Personally I wouldn't be fussed if he was gone in the morning. Let Grix take charge until the end of the season. It honestly can't get worse. Keep an ear to the ground for the rest of the year with regards to replacements, but also let Grix know the remainder of the year is also his interview.

Thoughts?
been saying for weeks Smith is not up to the job based on what we have seen on the field. Unable to cut out the indiscipline ,get them supremely fit,or create a structure either in attack or defence my mind was made up several weeks ago. Cant see anything else but Pearson sacking him after this game. If he doesnt then he has given up

I’m not even a Hull fan but something has to change at Hull after that performance. You’re crying out for a complete overhaul just as we were at Wigan before we brought Maguire in. One or two have mentioned Shaun Wane and I would say that if you could tempt him then go all out to get him.

Don’t think it’s both, think it’s down to Smith & Gene not being up to the job, Pearson as owner also shoulders some of the blame for allowing the malaise to continue and promoting people in to positions that are beyond them.
We’ve had a big turnover of players but giving Houghton another year for me was a big error as he’d openly admitted a couple of times during different seasons he’d lost his love for playing the game. Whist he’s been ok sadly he can not do 80mins anymore yet our so called experienced Coach still continues that well trodden path with a player that can no longer do long stints. We have players we are stuck with due to crazy long term deals handed out as a reward for nothing more than mediocrity.
Despite all the talk from Smith about the work they are doing in training and discipline we are simply worse than ever and even our basic skill set which was pretty poor prior to Smiths arrival is now non existent.
The club is in a complete and utter shambles from top to bottom.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

I've defended Smith . But wouldnt be bothered if he went. But some of those players need to look in the mirror. Whoever is coaching some of there effort and general couldn't give a poop attitude is terrible

Would be great but a totally un-Pearson like appointment. He's more likely to promote Stanley Gene.

Problem is we have no money, I'm not even sure we can afford to sack Smith. Even then I'd expect Grix the assistant to be promoted as a replacement
