It's surprising, in a very positive way, that we are top 4 attendance-wise, and also that we could finish top 4 in both the reserves and academy competitions. Just the first team to sort out.

That's a very good point which I wholeheartedly agree with.
City averaged 20k in their last season in the PL. That is poor considering that football dominates sport in this country and is up there with one of the richest sports and highest profile competition on the planet.
Even in the championship their averages were terrible until the takeover. They averaged 17/18k last season but that is pretty modest in context as the championship averages more then probably must top flight leagues in Europe.
Another factor is the away support. You just look at the away support at the MKM compared to ours and Rovers support excluding the derby's of course.
City fans keep reminding us that RL is a minority sport which is probably true nationally but in this city to average 20k plus fans is impressive.

I have been to see City on and off over the years and as It's my home town club I want them to do well. I don't get supporting Liverpool or Man U if you don't come from there. I remember when City got in the prem Liverpool and United supporters started coming to work wearing Hull City gear.
I used to go regularly in the late 70's early 80's but all I seem to remember was the fans calling to sack the board at every game!!
On TV I only watch the big PL games, Champions League matches and England internationals both men and women especially in tournaments.
However as far as entertainment goes I find most football games boring. Love my Test Cricket though which a lot of people think is tedious!

I know the home derby really helps this figure but in a very mediocre season as far as league position is concerned we have once again as a group of supporters really excelled.
However I have a question
With so much emphasis being put on attendances by IMG in the overall mix of criteria regarding super league admission next year I'm surprised that Rovers don't show their exact attendances. Unless of course the incorporation of hot dog junction and thus the lack of available overflow terracing has reduced their capacity. Anyone know why this is because the place was heaving for the Derby? This is a genuine enquiry and not a dig but if anyone knows I'd be interested because at present in that list it sticks out as 8000 estimated and with Cas and Leigh just behind them, (and with recent events in both camps) its possible (although unlikely) that Rovers could end up 9th.
