I think he's a good summariser. For example if you rewatch our cup finals from 2005 onwards he correctly predicts how things will pan out, I think some people have a problem with anyone who doesn't have a northern accent talking about rugby league.
Whatever he did in the past it isn't what he does now, not even close. He's so far off the mark, rarely will say anything controversial that goes against the narrative/officials.
These days he's an even more whiny voice that states the bleedin' obvious and misses or ignores too much, nearly as bad as 'for those people at home' or 'new to the game' Nobleisms which are cringe on another level. And, I've increasingly found Mark Chapman to be well past his sell by, he stinks the place out, I'd rather have Claire B, she's better at the presenting job and doesn't feel the need to denigrate herself or be the sidekick that the pundits can take the pish out of.
Peacock and Wilkin are okay, they're certainly miles ahead of O'Connor and Wells (could you imagine those two f.sticks doing the CC punditry!)
I don't even like Woods commentating and never have, there are far better from various local radio stations, one of the guys who covered Saints a couple of years ago I thought was briliant.
