Andy Last is now officially no longer as FC employee and I just wanted to wish the guy luck in everything he does in the future. He has been a loyal servant to the FC for 20 odd years or more and a a fan of the Club for a lot longer than that. He retired early because he always wanted to Coach and I have been acquainted with the bloke fort a lot of years and a bigger enthusiast for all things HULL FC you will not meet. It will have all been a massive wrench for him his family and his in laws, Few know exactly what the guy has been through this season to keep our club going.
I know that he'll have been hurting and he will have had a lot of sadness about leaving Hull FC. We all wanted change and we all knew there would be casualties but its still a sad old situation. He'll do a good job in a new environment at Wakey and they have got an extremely loyal and knowledgeable bloke. Who knows as well the vagaries of sport might just see his leaving turn round and bite us in the arras one day!
Good Luck Andy Last and Thanks.

I think you’ve encapsulated everyone’s thoughts on Andy, quite succinctly. Best of luck Andy, at least you’ll be able to commute easily enough and some ex FC players to work with All the best Andy and thanks for the 2 Cups

Very sad to see him go, a hugely loyal servant and part of the furniture for such a long time. My concern for Andy is that if he wants to come back as Head Coach one day, working for Chester at Wakey is maybe not enough in terms of broadening his experience. Hope he does well there, maybe Chester's successor at some point?

Sounds like we have done well.
Have to say it's quite a brave choice by Chester and I'm fairly sure this will have been Chester's decision. As you say he's a potential successor as indeed is our other signing Poaching, there are a fair few managers who wouldn't feel comfortable with either of those let alone both!

Fine words Wilf, fine words. It must have been gruelling for Andy.

I worked at Waky for a bit and it was an awful commute but I had to start at 08:30.

Yeah, it's an easy commute from Wakey to Hull but not the other way around. It's more that you hit the traffic on the M62 for Leeds than actually for Wakey, unless you worked somewhere in the town that was especially difficult to get to.
Sadly in work terms at least, Wakefield is now just an orbital commuter town for Leeds.
That said he will more likely start at 7 and thanks to the new relief road BV is literally ten minutes from the M62.
