born in airlie str,1939.german landmine that fell on boulevard, also blew up half of our house.thats why i dont like germans.not because they blew our house and boulevard up,but because the gerry pillock was aiming for craven park.
Think it will happen. Not sure when though. Just think AP is not daft, and he’s been in and around sporting clubs enough to know when change is needed. We need structure, systems and an improved ethos and culture. A coach who knows more than one way to play and can get the best out of a “team” and not “individuals”.
If a new coach does come in, we need to clear the decks so Last would need to go, he's too set in a way that is not effective unless you have a huge set of variables aligned for sustained periods and is not sustainable medium to long term both in terms of winning silverware and developing foundations for a club. It's going to take minimum of 2 years if not 3 to fully rebuild the squad properly, get rid of the driftwood and change the way our players and indeed the youth system go about playing rugby. I just wonder how long fans are prepared to wait after a few years of miserable rugby already. It does need to happen before season end so they can make decisions that have a bearing on training/personnel for 2021

I think some are now disregarding the comments on financial jeopardy for many clubs a few weeks ago and reiterated by Rimmer, simply because we are back playing. I wouldn't automatically expect the club to be "winning silverware" when it's existence could be under threat, particularly with the new wave of restrictions coming in. I would agree that optimism is one element in getting fans to renew, which is where the survival battle will be, but the club is limited in planning change by existing contracts, market availability and how much loyalty it can feel confident to assume in its fanbase, which is really its only asset.

I don't think Pearson will have a choice if we continue as we are, keep Last and it will hurt him financially a lot harder in the long run.
I still can't work out why he choose last over Purtill who has alot more first coach experience.
Last IMO would be foolish to take the job, he could have a job for life at Hull in some capacity, if he takes on the head coach job FT, I'm pretty sure within two years he won't be at Hull.
Good Points Dave and Mrs B it all about selling season tickets next year now, some of us will subscribe whatever, but already there is a general malaise amongst the fans you only have to look how many come on here now. Clubs desperately need fans back into ground this year but with anxiety still high around the older community, restrictions being increased again and the way we are playing in general, that is going to be a big ask. We may as you say Dave have to speculate a little to even survive!
