Quote:Hull FC supporters are in for a treat this coming week as we broadcast three matches from our memorable 2005 Challenge Cup run, including our historic semi-final victory over St Helens!
The club have been trying their best to keep those live action vibes alive in recent week by broadcasting games live across both Facebook and Hull FC Live, but there has been one game that supporters have been desperate to see – the 2005 Challenge Cup semi-final, a game which many believe is one of FC’s finest performances of the modern era.
Hull downed St Helens 34-8 at Huddersfield’s John Smith’s Stadium to earn a place in the 2005 Challenge Cup Final at Cardiff against Leeds – however, it was thought that footage of the game had been lost forever.
But, fans are in luck, with the full match replay being found in recent weeks, and will be broadcast in full for free on Facebook on Sunday 10th May.
Even better, we’ve also found the footage from two of our other clashes from our 2005 cup run, with our earlier games against Wakefield at Belle Vue, and Bradford at the KCOM Stadium also set to be aired this week.
Supporters can catch the first game tomorrow evening as we show our 4th Round clash against Wakefield from 7.00pm live on Facebook, before our 5th Round clash against Bradford on Thursday and our semi-final clash against St Helens on Sunday.
This week’s full schedule of live matches on the club’s official Facebook page can be found below:
Monday 4th May (7.00pm) – Wakefield vs Hull FC (2005 Challenge Cup 4th Round)
Thursday 7th May (8.10pm) – Hull FC vs Bradford (2005 Challenge Cup 5th Round)
Sunday 10th May (7.00pm) – Hull FC vs St Helens (2005 Challenge Cup Semi-Final)
The club have unearthed footage of over 50 classic matches from the last two decades during lockdown, with classic matches being featured every week on Facebook.
Alternatively, you can gain access to a full selection of matches right now, including all games from our historic 2016 season, by signing up for a hullfclive.tv membership.
Dues that mean that I have to set up a Facebook account to watch it?

That 2005 semi final is one of the most accomplished performances by an FC team I've ever seen, that it was against hot favourites Saints and their team of stars made it all the more sweeter.

We really were superb. Strangled and frustrated the hell out of St's. Forgot just how good our 4 props were. Carvell (superb) and Dowes took it to them and there was no let up with Thacks (blistering first spell) and Kingy ( loved him burying Scully into the turf). Twas a great trip out.
