Dear Hull FC,

Can someone help me with the naming of Hull FC. When RL clubs decided to disneyfie their names Hull adopted the suffix Sharks, when and why was this dropped to become Hull FC (and why not Hull RLFC?) ?

It was dropped following the Gateshead merger/takeover. Why? Not sure, but that is what we were called pre sharks and sharks had never really caught on. When you look back at old results we were always just referred to as Hull. I guess officially it is Hull RLFC. But we have always gone by Hull Football Club.
