His last day at FC today before he and his family head home. What a huge debt of gratitude we owe him, from his audacious chip and try in Cardiff to his work behind the scenes on recruitment and football management to deliver our best couple of seasons in a generation with back to back Challenge Cup wins at Wembley. Great to know he'll be "keeping in touch" from recruitment perspective. Thank you Motu.
I wish Motu Tony all the best on his return to New Zealand. I never met the guy, in person, but admired him both as a player for Hull FC and for the success he's brought to us as Director of Rugby.
He was great for us as a player and the try at Cardiff will never be forgotten. It was right in front of me too, we were on the front row of the middle tier right over the try line.
His appointment in 2013 raised a few eyebrows but that was probably Adam Pearson's best decision in his time at Hull. The mediocre signings of McRae/Howes were thankfully over.
I'm sure he'll still be acting in an ambassadorial role for the club and hopefully he can convince some more players of the ilk of Fonua, Manu, Pritchard to sign for Hull.

I would love to have had your seats, very jealous! You'll remember that forever. Certainly one of the most memorable tries I've ever seen and can't remember seeing one the same since
His contribution to the club both as a player and a manager have been immense. Our club have won the cup 5 times & Motu has had a big contribution to 3 of those wins.
Good luck to him in his new role.

I think it’s a massive ask of a just-retired player personally but one thing you can’t doubt is that he’ll put everything into it. Good to see him out in Aus already and mingling with a lot of his old friends and contacts, never too early to be planning future recruitment.
