Is this 1st May or 31st May, can never remember? And is it relevant across divisions, ie if interested could we now approach Championship club players for example?

1st of May according to this article (first one I found, coincidence that it is McCrae).

Can't see any reason why it'd be different between divisions, but the RFL does sometimes move in mysterious rules. I'm sure it's almost as widely flouted as the September version, but no reason that I know of that Hull can't announce it tomorrow. He's a good player and I'm sure he'll go well in SL.

No, but I'm curious as to why you would ask?

For clarification, I'm not implying anything untoward. Well nothing more specific than saying you often see people (generally) failing to use their indicators properly at roundabouts, for example.

Actually this reads more like a drunken post than my first. But I'm not. :)

'Ways' rather than 'rules', obviously.

No link, ways/rules, no idea what player he's on about. Bank Holiday bender I reckon.

I found an article here but it doesn't really help other than say it's hard for clubs without certain SL tenure to attract good players.

Hopefully with another couple of wins it'll start to look like we'll go round in SL again so will be in the game, but realistically the vast majority of SL quality players are tied up long term. Not sure who's off contract at other SL/NRL/Championship clubs that we'd be interested in..

You haven't heard?

Yeah, me either.

Looking at our OOC list, Heffernan has a bit of stardust but he's non-fed. Around the rest of the league, there's a few forwards who could do a job on the fringes of SL squads, but I suspect many of them are better off part-time with another job. Y'know when people sometimes say 'there must be somebody in the Championship' and then maybe cite Zak Hardaker or Chris Hill? Well having seen every team on HKRTV, that still seems optimistic to me. With full time training, I'm sure there's a few that could step up and not look out of place, but it really isn't a deep talent pool. Gary Lo at Sheffield scored an excellent try off a brilliant offload by that Aussie half we loaned for the 8s in 2015 - but again, both non-fed.

Off contract for Hull are

Talanoa
Ellis
Mini
Washbrook (thanks Wilf)
Thompson
Michaels

Mini is a certainty, I'd also keep Washy and Ellis (depending on the contract)

The rest id release and replace them internally and them try to add an impact forward to the squad.
