Looks like they've found a top class replacement for webster to head it up according to THIS
So the ethos of the academy was that they could invest more money in top class coaching but we end up with a self confessed FC hater. Does he have all of his coaching badges? Who else is coaching there?

It's a combined academy, judge the coaches on results, not previous comments in the press.
They won last night didn't they?

Results are irrelevant, it's how many players it produces for the respective clubs that the academy will be measured on and to achieve this it needs to be run impartially with the best quality coaches that can be afforded. if netherton fits the bill then it is a worry

Unfortunately Netherton he only has himself to blame as whilst he was a player for Rovers he was never short of making derogatory comments about Hull FC and proved what a t!t he was/is. I just dont see when he has obvious favour for them how he can be totally impartial which is what he needs to be.
The academy is not about winning games it is about bringing through the next generation of players for the senior teams. I thought it was a very poorly thought out and executed idea merging an academy that was bearing fruit with a bitter rival that has had very few players come through their development process.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

I thought that at the time & nothing has changed my mind yet.
Basically, they're a shambles of a club from top to bottom, have the worst record in SL for producing youngsters, their main goal as a club is simply to beat us, all run by a man who preaches to all that'll listen about his hatred for FC.
Why do we need them? When all this was being talked about as a possibility in the FC board room, someone should have broken up proceedings to show Pearson Liam Salter's highlight reel. A few seconds of that would've been enough to forget all about this stupid idea.

Absolutely Chris and Jake are spot on, some on here seem to have very short memories about Mr N who cockily quoted this week that HE will be in charge of it for the next two seasons. Any flack he is getting is his own fault and I have no sympathy whatsoever, as he has brought it on himself with some pretty over the top abuse over the years.
The majority of last nights team are Fc lads because Rovers let all theirs go but why? Well perhaps with so many of the lads from our failed Under19's making the grade in pretty spectacular fashion in the new phoney academy, we won't be able to offer them all contracts and have to be fair to them all but I wonder who will be waiving over the top amounts of cash in front of a few 'cherry picked' individuals in the weeks to come! Or even perhaps who is already doing it?

It really is a laugh after loosing the grant from the Sports council for not having enough people playing the game of Rugby League that two professional clubs decide to combine and loose 50% of the academy teams in Hull. If all others fallowed this no wonder the Government grant was lost, plain stupidity.
