I am another who went to both matches.
Great hopes in '59 to beat Wigan with our 'Power Pack' but we were held in the forwards by Brian McTigue and his merry men before the Wigan backs put us through the mincer! I have previously said on the Wigan board that this was the best Wigan team performance I have ever seen.
Was living in London for the '60 Wakefield game but had no great hopes when I saw the severely weakened team we fielded due to injuries to key players. The heroic performance of Tommy Harris will always live in my memory together with the standing applause he received when he was finally taken off and assisted in making the walk back along the touchline to the tunnel.
