I dislike Thaler I think he talks way to much and is over friendly with players when he refs but on this he is spot on Some decisions Alibert makes are amazing he should be nowhere near the decision making process. Perhaps though Thaler should have the courage of his convictions and make a decision without referring it

I think if you asked the players they would prefer a ref who talks to one who says little and appears aloof

In the nrl don't they use ex pros as part of the video ref process. I think Ben galea does it. Maybe we should try this approach

How strange that this is one of the things I really like about him. The players respect him because he treats them with equal respect, going round the clubs and speaking to playing staff about what is expected of them and why some decisions are made.
I would much rather have a ref like that than one who thinks he's infallible and speaks to the players like poop.

I think he loves the sound of his own voice and thinks that the game is about him as much as the players. That said it doesn't take a genius, or even someone with verbal diarrhoea, to reveal that Alibert isn't up to the job.

BUT he is far more consistent than that muppet Child !

Allibert is clueless as a video ref. It wouldn't surprise me if after this some of the other refs don't send as many decisions to him, which would be no bad thing IMO.
