This was mentioned yesterday in the match thread but probably warrants its own thread.
Quote:Hull FC are pleased announce a high-profile partnership with local business group, Halltech, who have become the club's new main partner.
The deal is a significant six-figure sum that becomes Hull FC's largest commercial partnership for five years, similar to the club's high-profile agreement with well-known travel operator P&O Ferries, which ran between 2006 and 2011.
[Adam Pearson] added: "This is the largest commercial deal the club has formed in recent years and the second biggest during our time in Super League, which massively demonstrates Halltech's support."
Good news, not a particularly big name but sounds a major sponsorship from a local company led by a Hull fan.
Quote:James Smailes @James_Smailes Hull FC agree biggest sponsorship partnership since P&O deal years ago as Halltech come on board with six-figure 3-year deal.
Halltech are local business led by Alex Hall. Known Alex a while through his sponsorship & friendship with Luke Campbell
he's a great guy with a passion for his home city and Hull FC, just the type of person clubs need on board.

Any sponsor is good news but a good six figure sum over however many years just shows how undervalued (or cheap whichever way you look at it) RL is as a whole. Liverpool FC who get just 4 times our attendances recently got £30 MILLION over 3 years from standard charter, their main shirt sponsor. If only we could get that sort of money over 50 years never mind 3!

They do play in the most high profile league in the most popular sport in the world to be fair!

Certainly not in soccer it isn't, however smaller businesses might see RL as a good alternative given the inexpensiveness compared to even rugby union. The RFL are pants at getting good sponsors for the sport and the main comps/international game

we are not football, your daydreaming if you think or expect a rugby league team in this country would get a multi million pound sponsor on board, teams like liverpool are shown worldwide to billions we aren't
we are a minority sport ateod, we should be thankful for sponsorship of any kind considering we are up against city, rovers and the city of culture

There's no comparison. They fill the gound every week and have about 30,000 people on the waiting list for season tickets (for years). We have 37k Twitter followers, they have 5.5m. Not to mention worldwide TV coverage.
A six figure sponsorship deal is great news for us. Hopefully it will lead to bigger things with Halltech.
