Outstanding tonight, the pair of them. Lost nothing when Watts & Taylor went off and they were unplayable IMO for the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half.

Hope this continues as it was (along with no back up hooker) my main concern for this year.

People got on greens back to much last year imo. Had some good games and made decent metres in a lot of games. Easy to see he could be fine. Question was finding that bit extra and closing the gap on starting props a bit more
Bowden had the biggest question over him. Wow. What a game. Best prop on the field. Long may it continue!

I fully agree and I was also worried about a drop in intensity when they were on the field but both played really well with bowden being the pick of the 2. He was excellent a couple of seasons ago before he signed his current contract but hasn't had a decent run since due to injuries. Hopefully he'll steer clear of problems this year

I agree, both OOC this year and before pre season I'd have said Green edged it. Bowden was excellent last night though and we still have Ellis and Feka to cover. Some strong competition for places.

Injuries have been an issue for both of them, so staying fit is the key, think both have worked hard in the pre season and credit must go to the conditioning team.

Not concerned about hooker as Houghton is a machine and I thought Washy looked good last night (although it wasn't at hooker).

Said last night in the other thread that they were at least as good as the starters if not better. Bowden looks stronger (as do most players this year) and Green seems to have improved his footwork at the line which means as a tall player he isn't getting cut down as easily as maybe he was.

agree with all the comments both josh and chris coming on really well both developing into 2 menacing props on this form new and improved contracts to reflect there importance to the current squad would be on my agenda in the next couple of months

My main concern with Bowden has always been his agility when defending because he always seemed to be a playing in lead boots when moving sideways but he has trimmed off a lot without losing his strength. Its obvious the gym work this preseason has been really good because all of the players seem bigger especially Logan who must have spent all winter locked up in the weightroom.
