Here is the Clubs latest initiative to build a crowd for the Salford game. I know some will gripe about more reduced tickets, they always do, but as a thank you to season ticket buyers I think that its a great idea and only what a lot of other Clubs do at the start of the season. WE need a big gate, tons of passion and a great atmosphere at the Salford game. If we as fans can get that, then it's up to the team to deliver the equivalent on the field.

This is what is needed every game not just one; if those seats are going to be empty anyway, why does it matter if we fill them with £5 tickets? It is money they weren't going to make anyway.

No chance - the club would lose a fortune. 3 people (who would have gone anyway) could go to every game for the cost of a season pass plus about £60.
nb This deal for the Salford game is on for 2 days only, starting today.
Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

Yeah totally get your point, I thought of that as soon as I wrote that post lol I was exaggerating when I said every game, I just meant that it is a good way to get more people in is all and should be offered more often, especially if they could figure out a way to offer it to people they knew didn't normally go but that is pretty much impossible.

How many passes were sold? 5,000 ish? Means there's the potential there to get 15,000. Would be fantastic to see that again! With the added away support in the east stand, I imagine that stand will be chocca. Hopefully there won't be many seats left in either the south or east stand.

Its an interesting one and something that a lot of clubs have used in the past for season opening games.
You can't do it for every game in fact you can't do it much at all, firstly because its not fair on season ticket holders and devalues their investment and secondly because around £5 of every ticket sold at full price, discounted or given away for any game we play over a certain level of attendance goes to the SMC. So this exercise if successful will leave the Club out of pocket.
Passes are getting towards 5900 and I see some (not on here) are grumbling about 'free tickets again', however I'd be the first to moan if that were the case and members were being shafted, but we were all told that if we subscribed then as the season progresses Members would get additional benefits, for me this is just such a benefit.
The most important bit in all this is to get a really good gate for the Salford game then as I say its up to the team to keep them coming! Its about the fans showing some faith and the team matching that with some passion and wanting themselves. I know its a big ask but when you step back its a blooming good deal and there were a lot in the shop today taking advantage!!
For me as a crowd building exercise its a win, win situation really for everyone on here because those who have passes and want to see the Club thrive have a chance to do something about building the gate, those who find it hard financial to attend and know a season ticket holder can come along and those who wan to see the Club struggle (as a few appear to do) have the satisfaction of knowing the Club will be out of pocket at the end of it!

I'm definitely going to take advantage and rather than give it to some mates who are regulars hoping to get in on the cheap, I'm going to give them to two friends who have never or rarely been. One of them used to be a season ticket holder as a kid but never carried on, the other is an ex Hull City season ticket holder who can no longer afford to get a pass for them. I could give one to my wife, but she has no intention of become a season pass holder, and when she does attend, its more to keep an eye on me
