Well considering it is a story that was 150 years in the making it has to be said that last nights "celebration" was a complete let down. 1. Showing the full highlights of 2005 final with the exception of the last 2 minutes as they cut it short. 2. 25 minutes talking about Sundays test match....this was a celebration of Hull Fc, not a test match preview. 3. Raffles prizes....tickets to watch Hull City x 2....WTF 4. Auction prize ....2003 signed Rugby Union Replica ball 5. 9 years old doing the Haka? Why? 6. No audience participation or choruses of Old Faithful at all during the night. 7. Poor choice of venue. Dark and dingy sums it up. 8. No comedian. It felt like a wake rather than a celebration. 9. Very few highlights....Floodlit? 1982 Aussies? Winning the league against Barrow? 1991 Prem? Topliss runaround? Last game at the Boulevard! Etc etc. All these games have easily accessible footage. 10. Poorly compered with reluctant speakers throughout the night.
One plus note was the pie and peas. Sorry Hull and Mr Clark, the lack of forethought, effort and not really delving into the history of this great club was clear for us all to see.
Apart from shirt launch I feel the 150 anniversary has been a bit amateur to be fair I don't know what it is about our club we have some good ideas but then seem to do them half ar@#£d if you know what I mean ?
To be honest the entire 150 celebration year was a washout, nothing about it inspired me to join in anything. It was not very well organised and lacked punch, we may as well not have bothered.
I ask the question on the choice of ball carriers pre match, no one asked Sammy Lloyd, Knocker or Sullys wife most where ok but there where one or two glaring foul ups.
Maybe me but I still remember the centenary year, just..................
I doubt anyone will remember the events of 2015 in fifty years time and a few of you lot will be about then ....................lol
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.;
Does not seem to be exclusive to Hull FC either given Rovers choice of Bobby Bubbles or whatever his name was for their parade!!
I reckon both clubs take one look at the amount of empty shops, pubs and eateries around the Town and think 'these lot will be grateful for any sort of night out and entertainment'!!
