We can't ever know if it was right or wrong because he is no longer part of the team, we can't say how wewould perdorm, nor Iindeed how he as an indovidual would perform in the team with its new structure.
Do we have hard evidence of how much we got for him and if so how was that money spent, what it is spent on would sway toward a yes or no but losinf the player himself doesn't give youa true answer.
