We all know the multitude of problems Hull FC has had since 2007, Wilf superbly summarised them in the latest diary. It appears the club as well as fans moral has hit its lowest point in a very long time. At times like this we must seek out positives in order to give us some hope that things can get better for the club we all love.
Here is my attempt at a list of positives about the club that I hope people can add too in a constructive way to show that we have it better as fans than many other clubs in RL, even within SL itself.
• The club has a loyal and large fan base. • We are financially stable. • We have an owner that is open, honest and willing to invest. • We are only a derby win a way from being in the top 8. • Only once this season have we not been in with a shot of winning the game. Are we really as far away to the other clubs as it appears at the moment? • Our U19's squad is as good as any other in SL clubs. • We play in one of the best stadiums in the league. • We have a club that is engaged with the community in many ways. • We have a successful retail department.

It's a results business, and we're not getting the results. We are not financially stable as of our own right, we have an owner with deep pockets (just how deep and for how long we shall see), whilst the points you raise are valid, they do not hide the fact we have an inept coach and a lack of winning mentality.

Not only is it a results buissness but adam Pearson asked for the fans to turn up in their numbers to support hull fc this season and the fans answered that call. Yet we aint seeing anything to make the fans come back again next season. If Pearson us happy losing more money then he is going the right way about it. If nit, get radders out and get a top coach in. Someone that will play entertaining rugby an win games. Then you may get people back through the gates

I guess in terms of judging financial stability, only a few clubs could claim to be financially self sustaining. This is true of most professional sporting clubs in any sport in the country.
I take your point it's a results based business and the coaching is not up to standard but we all know this. My point was to show you that it could be worse in terms of being a RL fan!

But thats the problem, you're saying "take the positives" as if they outweigh the negatives, which they don't. FC is a club in fatal demise, we're not a "sleeping giant", haven't been since 2006

I don't think we are in a "fatal demise", that's extreme. Just trying to be positive to lift the mood on here a bit. The season isn't finished so don't give up just yet. If we did make top 8 then are we not progressing?

I don't see scraping the 8 as progress, not with the resources available.
We haven't got a bad side. Every week people predict that we will get hammered and it very rarely happens, mainly because we have a decent hard working pack and our fitness is good. Every team we play has to work hard to get a result, we rarely give it away, which is good. But there's only so long you can keep saying "we aren't far away because the games are close." Other teams find a way to win in tight games, but we never do. When you are losing week in week out you are a long way away, regardless of whether you keep losing by 2 points or 20.
Fcandy good post and nice to see a ray of positive talk. Although agree with zucchini that am getting a bit fed up of close defeats. Just want a few results to go our way. IMO Radford not the man for the job but will have my shirt ready and washed for Thurs . just the way I see it of course

He never once said that they outweigh the negatives.
We are a sleeping giant, how can we have been one in 2006? We reached the GF and were cup winners the previous year. Hardly 'asleep'.
