IMO the warm weather training doesn't influence the season at all and is just an excuse for a bonding session, obviously a week in the sun together is better if your going on the lash, but with the season starting in February nowadays what is the point of it when our 1st few games are going to be in winter conditions.
But after the grief some of our supporters last year threw at the KR fans I'm sure they will be having a good old laugh at those very fans today.
Some of you might wish you'd kept it shut, afterall it obviously didn't affect them last season as they were a lot better than us.
Banter between the clubs is good but last year think some of our fans went seriously overboard in the mocking of KR's choice to stay in the UK
Think there may be some pretty embarassed people today

Yawn, old news, we've know for ages FC were not going away, what we didn't do was CANCEL AND ALREADY BOOKED TRIP.
I think most SL clubs are now realising that it achieves very little that can't be achieved over here with regards preperation for the new season. IMO it was always an unecessary exercise, which cost a small fortune.
I used to, there were some funny one's a few years ago, the KR amateurs are getting boring now to be honest, I never thought I'd say I miss Paul The Red and Vicenzo, but they were actually more interesting than some of our own fans at times!

These are tough economical times and we want to save money, the same with the cuts to staff. The difference is that our club are perfectly open about it and will make a profit again this year, whereas yours tries to cover it up with some bullshit story and then ends us losing half a million.
(1) Only a week or two before Hull KR cancelled their trip, Justin Morgan was in the local media saying that warm weather training is the most important part of pre-season period.
(2) Hull KR had also booked their trip, which was embarrassing when they cancelled it. Also the trip to Dubai was seen as a sign of both progress and one up-man-ship on the less spectacular Portugal camp that Hull FC where heading to.
On a positive note, not going overseas did not seem to hamper Hull KR, who went on to have a very good season and a very impressive 4th place finish.
