Balmforth having a shocker today, will happen at his age.

So your saying he hasnt made an error from dealing with attacking kicks ? Then you cant have watched him alot this season.

 Of course he has, I didn't say he hadn't did I, every winger in the world does.

To he expected with the squad we named. We're a patched up mess.

Hope everyone gets home OK with the stupidity going off in city centre

A bit of a disappointing scoreline but not unexpected given the two sides.
For all the bleating about Saints absentees it was a decent team.

On the plus side I think Barron looks a hugely improved player. There was a game last year where he couldn't catch a cold, took everything today.

Score line doesn’t tell the true story from the game. St’s had players missing yes but still had 12 of their usual 17 particularly in the forwards. We were literally bare bones with 5 possibly 6 players that have been making patched up 17’s (but more out of necessity than anything else). With no size whatsoever without Ese’ese or Sao it really was an impossible task made harder by some dumb stuff and Fash with a poor yellow. Future definitely looks bright though with the young lads breaking through.
Effort and determination is there to play for each other and until the final whistle and the last minute try showed that.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Up to shirt number 51 with three loanees, seven under 21s inc three teenagers, three mid season signings and only one quota player today - vs. Saints with Paasi, Sironen, Blake and Mbye. Our young kids have been overplayed out of necessity.

Today was our first big defeat in 9 games. Nobody likes it, but it reflects the situation we’re in at the minute.

Our team will be completely different next season. 4, maybe 5, of the team who played today are in our starting 17 next season.

Echo what most have already said. They tried hard, gave it their all, no complaints about the effort expended by all, but it was literally boys against men out there this afternoon.

We simply could not get out of our own half throughout the whole game, don't think I have seen a game played almost exclusively inside half the pitch!! We simply didn't have any size or power to push Saints back to any degree.

As for Saints fielding an under-strength side! All I can say is, I wish we could field an 'under-strength' side along those lines. Even our first-choice 17 (whatever/whoever that is!!) would pale in comparison to this supposedly injury-hit crisis Saints. Honestly, some clubs have no idea what 'doing it tough' actually entails. We'll do a swop if they like?

Not sure Walker at half is the way forward either, thought he looked a bit like a fish out of water, although to be fair to him this was hardly the situation for any half-back to shine given there was so little space to operate in, so I felt sorry for him in that regard.

Onto next week for the next round then!!!

I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.

Money doesn't talk it swears, Obscenity who really cares, Propaganda all is phony.

I'm the son and heir of a shyness which is criminally vulgar.

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way.

They worked hard especially in the first half but given the team we had out it was only going to go one way. I thought Moy, Barron and Martin showed great endeavour bringing the ball away from our line.

Not a great day with the pathetic right wing morons causing mayhem in the city centre. Ste Stephens closed as was Paragon Interchange for a while with no buses in or out of town.

The last few weeks caught up with us. No size in the forwards, our marquee half back anonymous as usual, no strike out wide. Disappointing but there you go

The poor man's bonaire
