Well that all but confirms what we already knew, another season without play off rugby for us. This one was frustrating for another reason, in which it was a game we probably should have won.
Looking back on our tactics over the last 6 weeks or so and I can’t help but find them a bit baffling. It’s a busted side low on confidence and frail in defence, yet we seem to have a habit of kicking on the 2nd/3rd tackle when near the oppositions line. A very high risk high reward play which has proven to bite us on the backside tonight. Kicking on the 3rd, giving away a 7 tackle set and then conceding. All whilst we was seeming to get on the front foot. We didn’t get back in their half till we scored about 15 mins later. This is where we have to be smarter. I’d forgive it if it was youngsters, but we’re playing with experience halves who should be know or at least be executing better.
Last game I could make this season, not much to shout about, but will be there for 2023 no questions asked.
