Interesting that Mau has been offered around Super league by his agent, guessing its pressure tactics to get a better contract offer from us as Hodgson as said he wants to keep him.

Has to be for the right wage for me, I don't think he's pulled up trees. Certainly wouldn't be paying him a huge amount.

I wouldn't be rushing to re-sign him either, we need to have a good look around first to see who's out there. He's been steady but compared to those who came before him he doesn't measure up. Overall a little disappointed by him.

On reduced deal maybe, if he leaves them we need to replace him, which might not be that easy. Unless we are looking at moving Griffin to the backrow

I'd hazard a guess we've offered a reduced deal with his agent put the feelings out elsewhere, interesting to see if he can get a better deal elsewhere.

I'm sure Hodgson and Ellis have a good network of contacts Incase we need a replacement.

Did Mau come over on marque wages? I know once upon a time Kelly and Houghton were our two on marquee wage. Obviously Houghtons had another contract since then which was probably a reduction hence the Toronto links before they went under.

that gives us the option of keeping Faraimo

I think most of us have been disappointed with Mau and lets not forget he has had several injuries during his time here which have kept him out for several weeks.
We saw what he can do against Catalan and apparently is regularly near the top of metres covered on the pitch at around 8 km per game.
The fact that his agent has offered him around then it seems likely he may be leaving but Hodgson likes him and he is well respected at the club so who knows.
Personally i would like to see him here next season.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts. I like Mau and think he is a very good player but we just haven’t seen the best of him and If I remember he’s also said as much. I think on Monday we saw a much more Mau performance.
As DaveK & Rocknrolla69er I think said wonder if it’s a reduced and the club are now offering what they believe fair based on performance over his previous deal. His agent will obviously want the best fit him but the fact his agent has done so I think gives an indication he may well be off at the end of the season.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

I really hope not, having two expensive quota wingers is poor use of the cap.

He certainly has not lived up to his nickname in the NRL as the "Tongan Terminator".
