Also somebody suggested on Facebook a “pay now, play later” friendly with Rovers . Sell the tickets. Split the proceeds between the 2 Clubs.
Play it at a later date for the Clive Sullivan trophy .
Sounds like a great idea, and maybe you know who could waive the rental of the ground.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

Play it over the river as not a chance Allam Jnr will wave the stadium fee.Ive no doubt Allam Snr would be happy to help at this time, with what is going on,but Ehab only interested in ££££££

That would halve the gate and income, not really the object of a fundraiser.

Put a minimum charge on the tickets, that would allow people who wanted to, to invest more without any effort.

The gate money on the previous pre season matches v HKR have always been shared so it wouldn’t be any different apart from possibly playing the game over there for free rather than pay Ehab money mad a fee to use the KCOM

The KCOM holds twice as many people, so a huge differenc. If Mr Allam wants to charge 12k x £25 (£300k) to play then we might as well give up now.

In the event the club were to go out of business, what do people think could be a newco scenario? In normal circumstances (Bradford) there'd be a requirement to restart in the 3rd tier as semi pro, but if we went bust I doubt we'd be on our own. Any thoughts on the future landscape? Also where would we play?

So many variables, it is impossible to say with any certainty at all. Like, who’d be leading the newco? What would be the structure of professional RL?

As you say, if Hull went they probably wouldn’t go alone. Assuming the newco inherited the goodwill of the fans, then I suspect a top flight place would ‘just’ depend on retaining use of the current stadium.

If I had to bet on it, I’d bet against it getting that far - but with far from complete confidence.

Could mothballing be an option if it looks like play won’t return for an unsustainable period?

The incorporation and shareholding would be a big one - no idea who'd be interested but it would be debt free I guess. The stadium is a massive issue. The SMC contract would be null and void I guess, and whilst on the face of it the Allams would be delighted to see the back of us, maybe they are having troubles also - not following City's current covid-19 position but in the event they went pop too that would be a different situation again. Literally no idea where we would play if not at the KCOM. Costello, Ionians? Neither great options and doubt the council will have the means or appetite to support us.

Structure of RL would be challengng - only a few likely to be insulated by benefactors so not enough for a meaningful top flight competition. As you mentioned before I reckon some might take the risk of going under and reforming rather than saving the oldco.

I don't think that at SL level there will be some who survive (as a full time professional team) and others who don't.
I think it will be all or none.
Sure some clubs may still be financially ok when we get back to playing, but I don't think SL can survive without a decent Sky deal, and we need a decent product to get that deal.
SL needs (imho) at least 12 competitive teams.

Definitely going to change the landscape of the game.

One governing body?
Change in structure again?
