Just checked and you are 100% correct, you can actually get back to Huddersfield, but it's not a direct service. Have to wait in Leeds for a connection.

When you played on a Sunday there used to be loads of us came on the train...cracking day out...now it's almost impossible to get back unless you drive or go on the coach. But that's the way most clubs are going these days.

A quick look on THETRAINLINE.COM show plenty of trains back, but via Leeds.
I wish the whole game would move back to Sunday afternoon kick offs, but that ship has long since sailed!

The current timetable has the last train leaving Hull to go to Leeds/Hudds on a Friday night at 21:38, so if anyone was planning on getting that they'd have to leave at least 10/15mins before the end of the game.
It's not an option I'd take if I were a Huddersfield fan.

Hull has always had a terrible late night train service for a city of its size , but it will improve when they replace all the manned signal boxes between Selby and Hull with automatic signals .{ Sound like a right anorak I know but its because I use the train to visit family..........honest }

As soon as Friday nights became our predominant home fixture it nailed the coffin shut for swathes of away fans. Whilst the focus of course is home fans, being that much further away than all the other clubs bar our 6 fingered neighbours it takes a heck of an effort to get here at the best of times. A linked effort through the clubs and RFL not only to sort out transport (a late train option crossing east/west appears impossible these days) but also discounted away tickets like a season pass of sorts but choosing a minimum of 7 away games, with better discount for a full away ticket pass. The clubs that get chosen on the selection get the money up front from the respective clubs. Also ability to buy tickets using electronic device with a digital id/passport and use 3d scanner to check code on screen or an oyster type card. I'd like to see a RL car sharing website were people can offer/request a lift to games whether home or away fans.
