It wouldn't alienate a few thousand fans at all, as most would still sit there, at most it would inconvenience a few hundred.

Really? Just look at the atmosphere created at Hudds, 2-3,000 fans being allowed to sit exactly where they want helps create an atmosphere, something that having the reserved section in the middle of the East stand doesn't allow to happen.

Essentially what we've got now is 3 or 4 pockets of noise trying to create an atmosphere, it's clearly not working. Mostly, the only time the full stadium gets behind the team is if there's been a bad ref decision gone against us.
