Briscoe - He'd already pushed him out of the squad and made it quite clear that he didn't rate him before the contract talks, big big mistake.
Maiava - Only a clown could possibly watch him play then give him a deal like we did. Poor doesn't sum it up.
Cusack - Absolutely the opposite of what we needed at the time in our pack. Panic/poor signing and a waste of a quota spot.
Dykes - A player who everyone on both sides of the world knew was finished and couldn't even pull his shorts up without needing time on the treatment table. Total pi$$ take signing.
Sing - Probably the most disappointing "high profile" signing that we have ever made. An old man with zero pace and a two year pension plan from Hull. Big waste of money and quota spot.
McMenemy - one of the best all-round second rowers we've had in the SL era and that clown showed him the door almost within minutes of sitting at his desk. Nothing to do with his shoulder. The clown made it quite clear to him that he didn't rate him and that he had no future at Hull. McMenemy fought all year for a contract which was typical of the total professional that he was, then got unlucky with his shoulder.
Brough - Also shown the door in no time whatsoever. I don't think that he was the answer at SH but he was shipped out and never replaced, unless you count an old past-it Aussie who was made of biscuit.
You can smooth over the facts all you like and, like you just have in part, make it up as you go along, but that guy took us so far backwards in such a short space of time that it was an achievement in itself !! He took a very good squad which needed a little tweak here and there and he totally fooked it up !!! He was the wrong man in the wrong place at the wrong time and we are still paying for his brief but very damaging tenure.
The poster has made some valid points to be honest and Sharp came in and had to endure a horrid time player wise.......Cooke legged it.....not his fault.
Thackery gate........not his fault.
Brough liking the beer and doing a joke that Backfired.....Doing his job.
Kings antics........Board not backing Sharp up when he wanted rid...not his fault.
Had the backing of the players he had left.....he knew we had a massive problem with S/H and brought Head in for a short stint and Dykes, when fit was clearly a class act,but his injuries caught up with him.....Agar signs Thorman who couldnt lace Head/Dykes boots.
Maiva was a disaster and Briscoe...depends which story you believe.
Player recruitment was poor but was he working with what the board would pay out and had to get the players he did.....i would have liked to have seen him with the recruitment we have for 2010 and he also brought the youth along as well.
