Unless something drastic happens, and assuming we resign Connor, then we are going to go into 2022 with the same spine as this year. Improvements to the squad will likely take place elsewhere.
But then the contracts of Sneyd, Reynolds and Houghton expire so we may will enter 2023 with a dramatically different side. By that point I think we can all agree we will be ready for some new blood.

We need a 6 who will take the pressure of Sneyd. He's not a running 7. Reynolds has done next to nothing apart from his first 2 games and everyone was saying what a good halfback pairing we have. IMO Sneyd is not out problem. We get a decent team on the park and he will do fine. I honestly can't believe the flak he gets

He has had Connor and Kelly at 6 in recent years and the same criticism of Sneyd has been levelled at him. Unfortunately now, you need a 7 who will take it to the line, and he does not, and will not do that. Fages, Hastings, Widdop, Sezer, Richardson, Drinkwater, Lino all take it to the line, prepared to put their body on the line to engage defenders to create space for the full back. That is the role of the 7 these days in the attacking structure

You can make a point for some of those names mentioned, but never Richardson, he's so windy. Can't get a game at Cas.
He's just a show pony, i can't believe Cas actually paid a transfer fee for him. Saints will be laughing their heads off...

But they bring different things. Similar to Gale. Lino was being ripped apart by they supporters couple of weeks ago. Hastings hasn't ripped trees up this year Wisdom another who supporters can't wait to get rid of. Richardson lol. Yes some of those have a better running game. But none have his kicking game. Guess we all see different things

His kicking game? We probably force the least goal line drop outs in the league. He lives off some drop goals - when if you watch those games back, I think he missed tackles in both that led to tries so he wouldn't have needed to kick them!
Plus, I'm sure everyone can agree that he didn't deserve the 2016 Lance Todd on the back of a couple of crossfield kicks and a 40/20.
Look, I can appreciate my opinion on Sneyd won't be matched by others, but I just expect more from my number 7

Yes we do thats why you shouldnt overreact when you see a player rightly criticised. Widdop for your information has been outstanding for Warrington this season.last season he was poor. Sneyd no doubt has won games for us in the past with his kicking game but his kicking from hand seems to be getting worse. There are several players currently in S/L with a better effective kicking game than Sneyd especially when it comes to kicks into the in goal to turn round the opposition. His field kicking is near to the top but again there are several players who are just as accurate including our own Jake Connor. He has little or no running game and therefore does nothing with the ball apart from a little Ali shuffle before passing to the nearest player. We need more from a half back. Anyway lets leave it at that but if you do see Sneyd remind him that in Rugby League we pass the ball backwards because against Saints i think he forgot.
